If you have ever watched Star Wars, then you know what it is about. George Lucas’ classic tale of outer space, Jedi, wookies, space ships, light-sabers, pod-racers, Jabba the Hut, and Yoda. There are also robots, frantic battles, epic light-saber duels, and force wielding masters who use the force to bend the world around them, either for good or evil.

Well, is Star Wars really all that it is cracked up to be? After all, we have all seen the movies, but are people really still into them? It seems that many people are, but why? Well, here are a few of the reasons as to why people still love Star Wars, why people still refer to Jedi in everyday situations, and why your boss still quotes Yoda every single day at work!

First of all, it is based in outer space! Come on, who doesn’t love aliens, flying ships, intense space battles, and battle droids?

Second, Star Wars is the only story with Jedi in it. These powerful force users battle for good or evil, depending on whether they fight for the dark side or the light side. Guys moving things with their minds, moving faster than normal humans can, people who are able to jump 50 feet… come on, it is cool.

Third, there are light-sabers. It is a laser sword that can cut through anything… it is VERY cool.

Fourth, the comic relief is timeless. C3P0 is constantly complaining, R2D2 is constantly beeping, Jabba the Hut is a giant grub… Han Solo delivers one-liners like nobody else can, and, as fate would have it, his co-pilot and life long friend is a smelly wookie named Chewbacca… come on, that is a match made in heaven!

And fifth… Darth Vader. Need I say more?… “…the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant, next to the power of the force…” ok, maybe the COOLEST villain ever, enough said.
